2018 Citizens Firearm Class
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the first Citizen Firearms Class of 2018. We are currently accepting enrollment for seats in upcoming classes.  Two sessions will be offered, with the first commencing at 8:00 a.m. and concluding around noon and the second class will begin at 1:00 p.m. and finish around 5:00 p.m.

These classes will focus on general firearms safety, the Georgia law governing the use of force and proper shooting techniques. The classes will be a combination of lecture and hands-on shooting instruction at the MCSO firearm complex. (Note that under current law, this class is not a requirement to apply for a Georgia Weapons Carry License, although it is highly recommended.)

Attendees must be 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions. The Sheriff's Office will provide ammunition for common caliber handguns, basic safety equipment and targets. This training will cover handguns only. Each class will be limited to 20 students.

If you would like to take advantage of this excellent training, please complete the application below and send it to the class coordinators, Sgt Frank Farr , or Reserve Deputy Jim Dale at , or via facsimile at 706.342.4561 or you can call them at 706.342.1507.

Individuals purporting to be representatives of the IRS are contacting residents randomly from telephone numbers with 202 area codes in an effort to deceive them into paying debts that do not exist.

The IRS does not conduct debt collections over the telephone, so please ignore these deceptive tactics, hang up on them and block whatever number they called from....CAB
