Important Announcements
| Emergency Vehicles By Georgia law, when an emergency vehicle that is displaying emergency lights and sirens is approaching, you must pull to the right and, if possible, stop. This allows the vehicle adequate clear lanes to safely and quickly continue its response.
|
| 911 SignsYour 911 street number is critical to public safety personnel being able to locate your home in a quick and efficient manner. Remember, in many emergencies time is of the essence and literally every second counts. If you have not already posted your 911 street number, please do so and help us help you! If you want to purchase your 911 street number or if you are unsure of how it should be posted, please call the Morgan County Fire Department at 706-343-6503. Signs are $15. Thank you!

| Burn Ban Information Morgan County is one of 54 counties that fall under the outdoor burning ban under the jurisdiction of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Environmental Protection Division (EPD). To meet compliance, there are no permits issued by the Georgia Forestry unit between May 1st and September 30th of each year. However, this does not restrict the use of home grills, outdoor chimneys, and contained recreational fires. To acquire a burn permit, call 1-877-OK2-BURN (1-877-652-2876) or visit www.gatrees.org. If you have any questions you may call your local forestry unit at 770-207-4204.
Remember: It is illegal to burn construction materials
