Michael Lamar has over 10 years of public administration experience in the Southeast. Prior to his tenure with Morgan County, which began on July 11, 2005, he served as City Manager of Trenton, Florida, from 1999 to 2005, following three years as an Assistant in the Volusia County, Florida, Manager’s Office. Mr. Lamar has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida.
Mr. Lamar is committed to providing efficient and effective local government services, and is very dedicated to total openness and transparency in local government. Mr. Lamar is one of three county managers in Georgia recognized as a Credentialed Manager by the International City/County Manager’s Association (www.icma.org).
