The County currently operates a transfer station and monitors two closed landfills, located at 2480 Athens Hwy., Madison.
County residents can drop-off their household waste at the Transfer Station as well as the following locations. At all of these locations, except Fairplay, residents can also drop off recyclables such as paper, cardboard, plastic (#s 1 & 2 only) and glass:

PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF DISPOSING OF YOUR TRASH AND/OR RECYCLABLES IN THE PROPER CONTAINERS. ALSO, WE ASK THAT CARDBOARD BOXES BE FLATTENED BEFORE DEPOSITING INTO THE CONTAINER.
HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL
Morgan County residents can drop-off cooking oil, used motor oil, paint, household pesticides, used electronics and household batteries at the Transfer Station Recycling Center on weekdays between 11:00 & 3:30 and Saturdays between 8:00 and noon.
